11 = Face the Other Way.
Sometimes when you want to talk with another player, your avatar is facing the wrong way. Just type 11 to turn around.
43 = Get Something Out of Your Bag.
Each avatar carries an unseen bag of items. You can hold any number of items in the bag, but there is no way to pull any one item out of the bag, you have to pull each item out one after the other. This makes it a little inconvenient to carry a lot of items in the bag (just as it would be in real life.) To get the top item out of your bag, type 43 and it will appear in your hand. If you want to see the next item in the bag, type 43 again. Repeat this until the item you want appears in your hand.
40 = Put Item Down
If you're holding an item in your hand, typing 40 will place it on the ground in front of you.
41 = Pick Item Up
Step up close to an item in front of you and type 41 to pick it up. The nearest item within a short distance in front of your hand will appear in your hand. (Note that there will be a 6-second delay before you can do anything with this item for technical reasons...)
42 = Put Item Back
Any item you hold in your hand will be returned to the proper carrying case (bag, wallet, map case, key ring) when you type 42.
44 = Take a Coin Out of the Wallet
If there are any more gold coins remaining in your wallet, one will appear in your hand when you type 44. Every visitor is given a limited supply of gold.
45 = Show a Map.
Some visitors are given maps, you can see them by typing 45.
77 = Write a Message in the Sand
If you'd like to leave a message for other players to read, type 77 and then start writing a short message. The message will appear in the display area at the bottom of the screen while you type it. When you hit Enter, the message will appear in the sand. The message will stay there until the wind blows it away...which may take a few hours or a few days. The message will be located in the sand near your avatar's hand. If there isn't enough room to display the message, it will be truncated. You can always erase your last message by typing 78. Messages may only contain basic letters and numbers, plus limited punctuation (?,.!). Messages can only be written in sand.
78 = Erase Your Last Message.
You can type 78 to delete the last message you've written in the sand. This only works during the same visit when you wrote the message.
88 = Invite a Friend to join You.
Valley of the Nile is much more fun when you can interact with others. By typing 88 you can easily e-mail a friend and invite them to join you at the location you're in. The e-mail your friend receives will contain a link, and when your friend clicks the link, they will be transported to your location. It may take several minutes for your friend to arrive, so you may want to leave a message in the sand if you move on. (Also note that if you do not move for several minutes, the system slows down and checks the server only once every few minutes--when this happens you may not see a new visitor until a minute or two after they arrive...so it doesn't hurt to keep moving while you wait.) The e-mail addresses you provide when using this feature are not recorded by Worldwide Worlds or anyone else.
Royal avatars have additional abilities that Newbians don't have. Mostly, this is the ability to kill other avatars. Be sure to use this ability wisely. Try to do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Because they might.
48 = Display Your Weapon.
Before you can use your weapon, you must display it by typing 48. This gives other avatars fair warning that you're not in a good mood.
49 = Level Your Weapon.
After you display your weapon, you can level it. Once it's level, it can be used to kill another avatar.
66 = Kill Another Avatar.
If your weapon is level and touching another avatar, you can type 66 to kill the other avatar. You'll know in a few moments if you were successful.
